Pupkewitz Megabuild is thrilled to announce the grand relaunch of its Otjiwarongo Branch. The grand relaunch opening was held on the 01 of June 2023. This highly anticipated event showcased the remarkable progress made in the Megabuild Otjiwarongo project, which has transformed the branch into a state-of-the-art destination offering an enhanced shopping experience and a wide range of products and services.
The transformation of Megabuild Otjiwarongo has been a monumental undertaking, resulting in significant improvements and expansion. The retail shop size has increased from 465m² to an impressive 1340m², providing customers with a wider variety of products and an improved spacious shopping experience. The new retail store was built over the existing store while trade continued, we believe another first for Namibia in this magnitude.
With a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, Megabuild Otjiwarongo has incorporated several environmentally friendly features in the expansion. The branch continues to boast the old solar system that remains active and running, contributing to the electrical grid, and helping with consumption. In addition, a new water plantroom has been installed, featuring a 5m³ water tank connected to ten water coolers. The water flushed from the coolers during the day, which provides cooling to the shop, is collected in the tank. From there, it is pumped back into the "greywater" lines, effectively reducing water wastage during the flushing phase. This water, while not suitable for human consumption, is utilized for flushing the toilet units, further minimizing water usage.
One of the key highlights of the relaunch was the introduction of new and exciting product ranges. Megabuild Otjiwarongo now proudly offers the renowned Bennet Reed range, which includes everything from microwaves to kitchen knives, catering to the diverse needs of customers. Additionally, the branch has expanded its outerwear section with the new Rogue hat range. To provide even more convenience and flexibility, customers will find the Pick-N-Mix section for loose bolts and nuts, allowing professionals to purchase supplies according to their specific project requirements.
Listening to customer feedback and striving to meet their evolving needs, Megabuild Otjiwarongo has introduced several new services. The branch now offers Afrox Gas Refill, facilitating the refill and exchange of gas cylinders ranging from 1-7kg and 9-48kg. Furthermore, customers can now purchase building sand and stone in 0.5m³ quantities, catering to the needs of contractors and DIY enthusiasts. Another valuable addition is the key cutting service, enabling the local community to conveniently create spare keys. To ensure the best possible customer experience, Megabuild Otjiwarongo has focused on accessibility and comfort. The expansion project includes wheelchair-friendly facilities and additional restrooms, providing convenience and ease of access for all customers. More and secured parking is now available inside the courtyard, leaving our customers peace of mind with a fully loaded vehicle while shopping at Megabuild Otjiwarongo. Customers can enjoy an expanded retail experience, as 80% of the Yard stock is now available directly in the shop, making it more convenient to find the products they need. Enhanced displays across various sections, including plumbing, sanitary, tiles, tools, electrical, gardening, and more, provide customers with a hands-on and informed shopping experience.
