Starting off with materials, the trends
for the coming years are natural, reflecting the nature that you are in!
Colours like taupe, brown and grey are the new cool. Natural materials
including concrete, wood and even cool, clean metals are all the rage. Not only
do they reflect nature, but they also are minimalistic, and clean-cut and add the ‘less
is more’ feel you are striving for. Blend these natural shades with cool blues,
greens and other hues that brighten up space.
Create a neutral but solid base from
which to work. Take a different look at the shapes in your space. Vertical
walls can add a great accent if contrasted with natural stone cladding or by plastering
your walls in neutral tones with added texture. Be sure to pick a style that
you will like for at least a few years - so keep it classical. To juxtapose
your neutral tones, play with shades of charcoal and stripes to create focal
