PIMP MY SHACK 2020 – SEASON 1 COMPETITION

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The promoter of this competition is M Pupkewitz & Sons (Pty) Ltd t/a Pupkewitz Megabuild and t/a Builders Warehouse hereafter referred to as Pupkewitz.

This competition is open to all Namibian citizens, except employees of Pupkewitz Megabuild and Builders Warehouse, their spouse and dependents and advertising agencies. The competition runs from 18 September – 2 October 2020 and no entries will be accepted after that date. During this period (18 September – 2 October 2020) customers can take part in the competition by submitting all needed documents, stated later. Three (3) winners will be selected.

To qualify for the prize, customers must have submitted the following before closing date:

• Motivation letter: Telling us why we should pimp their shack and how the person has supported the community in the past year.

• Two (2) or more photos of the shack must be included.

• At least one (1) photo of themselves and their family members/friends who they are living with must be included.

• Include a copy of Namibian ID / Driver’s License / Passport.

• Include legal residential address, street name & erf number.

• Letter and all documents should be in English.

To qualify as a finalist, the person must be Namibian and 18 years or older. One can enter on behalf of someone in need but must be willing to sign an agreement that the nominated beneficiary is the true winner. One must submit legal residential address, street name and erf number. No renovations can be completed on illegal dwellings. The address will be verified by the City of Windhoek. Competition is open to Windhoek Municipality District only. A panel of judges will select 3 winners and the decision of judges will be final.

• Entrants can enter the competition only once.

All winners are determined by a process of a panel of judges and will be verified to comply with the Terms and Conditions by an internal auditor. A panel of judges is external and internal representatives. 

All the three (3) winners will be notified telephonically and announced once the City of Windhoek has verified the address and that the dwelling is legal.  Winners will receive a Shack renovation make-over to the value of N$30,000.00 and the prize cannot be exchanged for cash. The prize is not transferrable.  Winners will be requested to sign an acknowledgement of receipt of the prize. Pupkewitz will hold rights to renovate the shack to their best understanding and ability. During renovations the occupants of the shack must accommodate themselves elsewhere with own cost, Pupkewitz will not carry this cost. Renovations will be done during 19 October - 6 November 2020.

All entrants to this promotional competition participate entirely at their own risk and accept the terms and conditions on entry. By accepting these terms and conditions the entrant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless Pupkewitz and all entities in the Pupkewitz Group, their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the competition and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or willful misconduct of any indemnified party.

Pupkewitz reserves the right to disqualify any customer from participation in this competition in light of any malpractice or manipulation or abuse that Pupkewitz believes to have taken place.  In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Auditor shall be final and binding and Pupkewitz will not entertain any further correspondence in this regard.

By entering this competition, entrants give Pupkewitz permission to contact them regarding the development of the competition and future promotions.  All participants agree and authorize Pupkewitz – for the purposes of this competition – to be identified, announced as winners, have their names, images, photographs and video taken and published in the media which shall include print, television, press, internet and social media (at no additional cost to Pupkewitz).  Failing to agree will result in such participant forfeiting the prize to the next alternate winner.

If required, Pupkewitz shall have the right to terminate this competition immediately and without notice and /or to amend or alter the relevant prizes.  In the event of such termination, all entrants agree to waive any rights that they have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Pupkewitz, their agents and promoters. Pupkewitz cannot be held liable for personal damages or expenses.  

Pupkewitz shall be indemnified against any technical errors beyond its reasonable control. Pupkewitz cannot be held liable of any loss of personal items during renovations. Should something happen to the structure of the shack, Pupkewitz cannot be held liable.
